ATTENTION: Making Goal Sigs is Infringement.
That’s right. If you code up your own goal sigs for your site, then you ARE STEALING FROM DRAYNOR. I’m amused at the ignorance that sometimes goes on there. They actually believe that the idea of making goal sigs is stealing their idea. Hello, Draynor, guess what? RSBANDB were the first to introduce stats/goal sigs. Do you see us coming to you about it? No. Instead, we continue to do what we do to remain competitive. We don’t sit around and whine. We also don’t send little love notes to Leetscape (the supposed perpetrators who “stole” the goal sig idea) telling them that they need to remake their goal sigs.
Do the goal sigs look similar? Yes.

Is that copyright infringement? No. Because they did not copy Draynor’s exact graphics. Draynor, if I were in your position I wouldn’t whine about this. I’d make new (hopefully better) goal sigs. When it comes down to it, people want something that looks nice. These sigs are just mediocre and you all apparently ripped them from an open source code. Here is an excerpt of what a Draynor mod (who somehow appointed himself as ambassador of Draynor.net) sent the admin of Leetscape:

Those signatures are nearly identical. The only difference is the font and the graphics, both of which are probably because Faggays doesn’t know where to get them.
You’ll notice that the images, the percentage bar, and the text, are all placed in exactly the same co-ordinates and the signatures are exactly the same size.
I think you need to take another look at whatever book you’re reading, because you obviously don’t know what the fuck copyright infringement is.
We didn’t steal from Gayfags and and Faggays did steal from us, because you can tell a difference between ours and Gayfags, but you can see a CLEAR resemblance between Faggays and Draynors.

Either Leetscape stole our code and is lying, or aforementioned fucker stole our design (not necessarily our code) and made an open-source version of it, which definitely infringes our license on it.

The only reason why I can’t post the link here was because I promised the administrator of Leetscape that I wouldn’t. Yes, JazzC made the original and, yes, Clooth ripped it.

Actually, as I just wrote (since you’re obviously having reading troubles) I didn’t “hear” from anyone about the code, I saw it myself. And believe me, the status bar, the background, the skill icons..all in the same places and nearly the same colours. How about I give you hint, if you can find the other screename that JazzC uses online, you’ll be able to find the code. In fact, it’ll be the top site in Google.

Actually, that doesn’t prove anything. All he says is that he released the source code with the same images because Clooth was annoying him about the fact that they look the same. Until you can prove that Draynor sigs are not run on the same source code as Jazz’s, I don’t see how that’s a bombshell.

Yes, but that does not prove that Draynor’s source code is not built off of any of the source code provided by JazzC. Is it not possible that perhaps with the release of the code that parts of it were added onto the existing code? Considering no one wants to show Draynor’s code (somewhat understandably, but no one at RSBANDB actually even wants the code as ours is more efficient in handling requests) there’s no way of proving or disproving.

You’re changing the story. You said the codes were the same, they are not. None of JazzC’s code was used, Clooth’s is much more efficient than you say and judging by JazzC’s coding standards (He may be a good coder), Clooth wouldn’t use anything like it, you also commented on the overlap on the goalsigs, if JazzC’s code was used that would apparently not happen.

What I’m saying is that there is no way, short of providing both codes alongside each other, to prove that some of the code is not part of the Draynor code.
