Enough of the Bullying
I meant to write this entry days ago, but things have kept me busy. I wanted to say that I am tired of the bullying that goes on at RSBANDB regarding religion. It’s often now that I see videos not unlike the one I saw a few days ago which compared god to a jug of milk. Time hardly goes by without a spiteful jab thrown from the opposing side that uses condescention to essentially shame people when it comes to the matter of god and religion. The pure childishness of this amazes me. If any grown adult posted something like that, I’d have called him a child. But since a child posted that, I have nothing to say for his ignorance.
This isn’t about who believes what, it’s about the lack of maturity and pseudo-intelligence used by people to make themselves feel better. Never once have I called anyone’s beliefs stupid, illogical, or pointless. Nor have I ever attempted to humiliate anyone for what they believe. I hear some Atheists say that a world without religion would be a lot better. Is a world full of sheer bigotry without the guise of religion to lay blame really any better?
I don’t want to debate religion anymore. The people who constantly try to wind others up are simply lacking in their own lives and I don’t want part of it. I believe that to only accept truth as seen by the five senses is unintelligent in itself. To simply stop and say “I only want to believe what I can see. Nothing more” is knowingly cheating yourself of the journey to find truth. The small voice in our minds that tells us right from wrong, the event that happens in our lives that we have no explanation for..to me, these are mysteries worth not discarding as fiction or attempting to rationalise when they cannot be rationalised. They’re the very things which set us apart from all other animals and I am proud to always be in wonder.

I’ve been trying to distance myself from these topics now. So all I have to say is;
“+1.”

I am getting tired of it as well. I try to stay away from these topics, but I refuse to sit back while they call belief in God ‘delusional’ , etc…
I would be happy to put an end to the topic, but it seems like the athiests just want to keep bringing it back up.

It amazes me that the childish people who post such threads, wonder why they get put on probation. I don’t really know about others, but I’m at the site to have a good time, talk with some friends. Not to have am argument about who’s god is better and the like. It just amazes me….

Agreed. Both sides are getting very childish. Most always have been.

I’d expect you to at least get your apostrophes right, Salad.
(PS: All IPs originating from QLD Australia are now banned from my blog. If you manage to pass the filter, I’d like you to keep posting so I can continue to ban your IP range. Thank you.)

Excuse me, MQ’s pretty much rambling about God threads, not about me and Connor. Nice flamebait tbh.

I hate to disappoint you, Killerz, but RSBANDB forum rules don’t carry over to my personal blog.
And, I’ve yet to see you actually respond to any of these “ramblings”, so be my guest.

Having worked at retail stores for three years now, I have thoroughly come to the conclusion that there are many retarded people in this world.
These people are just one flavor of people.
Enjoy the lollipops. ^_^

Hmmm…this topic has blog entry has tons of irony…just flowing through it.”Pseudo-intelligence”, that makes me chuckle, for goodness sake you are posting this on a personal blog, and about an online web board nonetheless…(sarcasm boiling). So you mean to tell me you are tired of stupid arguments (I’m going to argue here that 75% of the topics on RSB&B are pointless, this has been the case since the inclusion of the sandbox forum), well welcome to the club, except for the fact that we all choose to visit this place and we all choose to open topics…hey you can always let one side have a pity party and agree amongst themselves you don’t always have to post. And I would imagine as all things on the internet evolve this site is as well. As more and more people are included and more and more time pass, standard of honour and dignity begin to slip…such is the path of the world…and it always has been.
The more I use computers the less and less I like my life. Games and computers consume you…with no real reward. Do we really learn anything, no…do we really gain any permanent satisfaction from a job well done and a day well spend…(no Runescape and WoW are not a day well spent) no…
I believe the reason so much tension is manifested on the board in the form of argument back and forth on pointless topics is because computers are essentially a pleasure tool. I know I get on to play Runescape and read these boards to veg. If I want to mess with someone here or on Runescape…I can do it in virtual anonymity…with no real risk to myself. So what are you going to do ban them? For what, everybody argues and everybody always wants to prove their superiority over others…Nothing is going to change that…and in an on demand world like the internet things just happen that much fast and with less hazard to ones self then if you were to run up to a person in real and blast them for believing or not believing something.
My point? If you want this to stop it isn’t going to. If you want it to end…fat chance. And if you think things are going to get better…count your blessings and move on.
Pardon me…I have a plane to catch to Hawaii in the morning. I have to go move my grandparents. Later.

Meesekiller-
I know that my post seemed a little demanding (I, like most humans, have the ability to get upset once in a while), but all I simply want is for people to use their common sense and treat people as they want to be treated. Simply sitting back and being sarcastic about things being in an online world and having no real meaning to life is a pretty absurd thing to say. The things that others say to us does impact our life when we consider ourselves part of a community– online or not.
To say that anonymity is wholly the reason for people being rude isn’t entirely correct either. There are plenty of people who can be entertained on the internet without having to be coarse.

I would argue that anonymity is the primary reason for people being rude. Those people that entertain themselves are probably not inherently disrespectful.
If you don’t believe me then tell me how many people you know, internet or otherwise would walk up to a random stranger and say, “Fuck you”. The lack of anonymity has a way of stopping rude nature’s of individuals in their tracks.
